WA7MBL 5.12 Simple commands consist of one or two letters and a RETURN. The second letter of a command is called a qualifier. Some commands accept further arguments. To add an argument, type a SPACE after the command or qualifier and then type the argument(s). Do NOT put a space between a command and a qualifier. - - - Commands that control the system: B - Bye, log out of the MailBox. Forced if no response to a menu in 4 minutes. H - Display the help text. ? - Display the help text. Qualifier: ?A - Give help with A command. ?B - Etc. I - Display information about the system. J - Display the calls of stations recently heard or connected. N - Enter your name into the system. T - Talk to Sysop. Dings the bell on the local terminal. Gives up after one minute, or input from the TNC. X - Change Expert mode status. In expert mode you get no welcome, short prompt, and no goodbye message. - - - Commands that apply to messages: K - Kill a Message. Qualifier: M - Kill all messages addressed to you that you have read. T - Used to kill traffic after it is taken. Argument - Message number. L - List message headers. Qualifier: None - List all messages entered since you last logged in. A - ARRL bulletins only. B - General interest bulletins. L - List the last N messages. M - List messages addressed to you only. N - List unread messages addressed to you only. T - List NTS traffic only. > - List messages TO call given as argument. < - List messages FROM call given as argument. @ - List messages @ call given as argument. Argument - Number of the oldest message to list. For LL, the number of messages to list. For L@, L<, and L>, the call. R - Read a message. Qualifier: None - Read one message. M - Read ALL messages addressed to you. Argument - Message number to read. S - Send a message. Qualifier: None - A general message. B - A bulletin. P - A private message. T - traffic for the NTS. Argument - Call of addressee. The form: "S call1 @ call2" is also supported. call1 is the addressee, call2 is the bbs to forward the message to. Example: SP K1KSY @ W0RLI - - - Commands that apply to file transfers: The MailBox expects standard filenames: 8 character maximum name, 3 character maximum extension. Examples: BBS.HLP HFCALLS.HRD CALLS.HRD A - Abort a long listing. If you send an A during a download the listing will stop. (Note: due to the size of the TNC buffer, you may receive a number of lines before the listing stops.) D - Download a file FROM the MailBox. Argument - Name of file to transmit. U - Upload a file TO the MailBox. Argument - Name the file will have. Terminate the file with ^Z (CTL-Z). W - What files are available. Qualifier: N - List new files since last logon. Argument - If present, filespec to list.
