Welcome to PI1NOS/PI8NOS, the Hilversum node of the dutch packet radio network. This node mainly serves the interlink between NET/ROM nodes, but it also functions as an IP router and an SMTP message switch. The software in use is the KA9Q TCP/IP networking package, plus extensions built in by PE1CHL. The hardware is an Atari Mega-ST2, a 68000 computer with 2MB RAM, 192KB ROM and an 800KB floppy disk drive. About 1MB of the RAM is used as a RAM-DISK, it holds the public files and is used to store mail being forwarded. The packet radio interface consist of a home-brew board containing 4 Z8530 SCC chips, providing 8 AX.25 links without using TNCs. The current configuration is as follows: name speed link ---- ----- ---- lap 1200 local access, 430.750 MHz lap48 4800 local access, 430.750 MHz ln.w 1200 interlink west, 1240.7/1299.7 MHz (to PI1ESA) ln.w48 4800 interlink west, 1240.7/1299.7 MHz (to PI1ESA) ln.e48 4800 interlink east, 1240.4/1299.4 MHz (to PI1VRZ) ln.s48 4800 interlink south, 1240.9/1299.9 MHz (to PI1EHV and PI1RNI) ln.n 1200 interlink north, 1240.8/1299.8 MHz (to PI1JYL) ln.n48 4800 interlink north, 1240.8/1299.8 MHz (to PI1JYL) Mail "alias", TCP/IP hostname, routing and this information file can be downloaded from the public file area using TCP/IP (these are copies of the actual configuration files). Users are also invited to upload small files like up-to-date hostname files and documents. Please remember that all the public files are in a RAM-DISK, and are therefore lost when a powerfailure or a cold-reset of the system occurs. AX.25 services are: PI8NOS NET/ROM node (call on interlink is PI1NOS) PI8NOS-1 mailbox PI8NOS-6 conference bridge The AX.25 Mailbox is a mini-mailbox that can forward mail to TCP/IP users. It cannot deliver mail to AX.25 users or BBS systems. sysops of this node are: PA0NEK (RF equipment and antennas), PE1CHL (Computer equipment and software), PE1CRC (Organization, license and site) Mail with questions or routing requests should be sent to "sysop@pi8nos", from where it will be forwarded to the sysop in charge. General information requests can be directed to PE1CRC at NOS Scoop, Postbox 1200, 1200 BE Hilversum. There is no operator at the site, so AX.25 connects or TELNETs are not useful. *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Het bouwen en instandhouden van deze node kost veel geld, dat uit eigen zak betaald wordt door enkele van uw mede-amateurs.
