From : G8FSL @ GB7HSN.#32.GBR.EU =========== TCP/IP News =========== Region 19 (Greater London north of the Thames, and Hertfordshire) 1). New Address Requests I am now in the position of being able to issue IP addresses for stations in Region 19. If you are in Region 19 (i.e. your local council is a London Borough or a Hertfordshire district) and you would like an IP address, please mail me, G8FSL @ GB7HSN, with the following details: Name (Bill Stickers) Callsign (G9ZZZ) Home BBS (GB9ZZZ) Town (Toytown) ** more precise than 'London' please ** County (Blankshire) QTH Loc (IO91zz) An address will be supplied by return. 2). HOSTS.NET file From now on, the _only_ place where you will find the current version of the Region 19 HOSTS.NET file is on GB7HSN. (If you get a version of the file from anywhere else, you run the risk that it is out-of-date or incorrect). To get the current version of the file, you need to send a "REQFIL" request to GB7HSN, as follows: BBS Prompts: You type: "GB9ZZZ >" SP REQFIL @ GB7HSN "Subject:" TCPIP/HOSTR19.NET @ GB9ZZZ (where GB7ZZZ is your home BBS) "Message:" ^Z Note that on the Subject line the directory name TCPIP is NOT preceded by a slash. Also, substitute your own home BBS in place of GB9ZZZ. The file will then be sent to you automatically. (If you are logged on to GB7HSN, then you may directly download the file: type "D TCPIP\HOSTR19.NET".) I will be updating the file continuously as new entries are received, and from time to time I will issue a general bulletin reminding you how to get it. If you already have a Region 19 IP address, would you please check your entry in HOSTS.NET to ensure your details are correct. In particular, several entries had the Home BBS as the now defunct GB7HQQ - these entries have had GB7HQQ replaced (by ??????) in the file, and alternative Home BBS details for those entries would be appreciated. 73 Andrew G8FSL @ GB7HSN AMPR IP Address Coordinator - Region 19 [Einde van bericht 26296] 2:PI8GCB BBS (A,B,C,D,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,N,O,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,?)
