General Issues ================= The connection between a camera and a computer will be lost if you switch off the camera's power or pull out the communication cable. However, the camera icon may still be displayed even after disconnection. You should therefore restart the computer before reconnecting. If you do not restart the computer, the camera may not work properly when reconnected. 2. Issues with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] ============================================== This wizard may not work properly if you perform any operations (such as saving) on images using the window that appears when [Explore camera (Advanced)] is clicked. You should therefore not perform any operations on images in this window. If you rotate images using [Scanner and Camera Wizard], some or all of the image information may be lost. Use the application that is included in the package to rotate images correctly. When you copy an image that has either been shot in landscape orientation or rotated by the camera, the image may be copied in the incorrect rotated state. If this happens, you should either rotate the image using the application that is included in the package, or recopy the image. Sometimes the thumbnail image of a rotated image displays in the incorrect rotated state. You cannot copy RAW images or movie images. You should use the application that is included in the package to copy RAW images or movie files. 3. Issues Related to Viewing and Copying Camera Images with [My Computer] =========================================================== Sometimes camera images do not display correctly in the [My Computer] window. If this happens, update the display by selecting [Refresh] from the [View] menu. The file extensions of RAW images and movie files are not displayed when [Details] has been selected in the [View] menu. To check the file extension of an image, select the image and click on [Properties]. When you preview an image that has either been shot in portrait orientation or rotated by the camera, the image may be displayed in the incorrect rotated state. If this happens, rotate the image to the correct position in the preview window. You cannot preview RAW images. You should use the application that is included in the package to preview RAW images or movie files. If you try to preview a movie image, the [Open With] dialog appears. To preview the movie image, select the appropriate application from the list of applications in this dialog. The update time of copied images can sometimes be inaccurate by a few hours. Use the application that is included in the package to copy images correctly. When you copy an image that has either been shot in landscape orientation or rotated by the camera, the image may be copied in the incorrect rotated state. If this happens, you should either rotate the image using the application that is included in the package, or recopy the image. No application is associated with copied RAW images or movie images, as they lose their file extension during the copy. You should use the application that is included in the package to copy RAW images or movie files. You cannot copy the thumbnail files of copied RAW images or movie images. You should use the application that is included in the package to copy thumbnail files. 4. Issues with [Canon Camera Properties] ======================================== The settings of [Actions] may not be correctly implemented. If you select [Start this program] under [Actions], you may not be able to copy images when the camera is connected. If this happens, select the device named [WIA-Canon Camera] using the program that started when you connected the camera, and then copy the images. If you select [Save all pictures to this folder], no application is associated with saved RAW images or movie images, as they lose their file extension during the save. You should use the application that is included in the package to save RAW images or movie files. If you select [Save all pictures to this folder], the update time of saved images may be inaccurate by a few hours. Use the application that is included in the package to save images correctly. 5. Issues Related to [WIA-Canon Camera] ======================================= You cannot copy RAW images or movie files. You should use the application that is included in the package to copy RAW images or movie files. If you use the camera having selected [Details], error messages may appear or the computer may crash. If this happens, select [Thumbnails] before using the camera.
