1. About this software
----
This software includes functionality allowing Canon Auto Update Service to be used from within application software.

By communicating with the Canon Auto Update Service server on the internet, this software enables application software to be automatically updated to the latest version.


2. Notes regarding security software
----
Canon Auto Update Service cannot be used if your security software blocks communication between this software and the Canon Auto Update Service server.

If your security software does not allow communication between the program and server below, please change the setting to enable such communication (without altering the security level itself).

C:\Program Files\Canon\Auto Update Service\UpdateChecker.exe

3. What to do if an application software update fails
----
Auto Update Service may be unable to automatically update certain applications due to the combination of software running on your computer and other factors.

For example, the program may display a message like the following:
"Failed to start UpdateInstaller.exe. Cancelling software update."
"Failed to download update. Check your network connection and try updating again."

If a message like this is displayed, please wait a while and then try to update the application software again.
